The Power Of Now - Eckhart Tolle
For anyone who hasn’t ventured into the literature section marked “New Age and Spirituality” may I recommend that now is a good time to be brave and march courageously up to the shelf and grab yourself a copy of The Power of Now.
It's very easy reading and a good opportunity to reflect on whether you are letting your thoughts run you, or whether you have developed the ability to stand back and reflect and observe those thoughts as if from a distance. The Power of Now goes into a range of areas around consciousness, mind strategies and ways in which to evolve personally. One of the underlying principles of NLP is that what you pay attention to you get more of. Eckhart Tolle reinforces the importance of focusing on what is positive and desirable. I think the best way to sum up the book is to quote from page 107. “I am still not quite sure if I fully understand what you mean by Being. “Water? What do you mean by that? I don’t understand it.” This is what a fish would say if it had a human mind.” An interesting and enlightening read – could be a good Christmas present for someone who never reads this kind of book!
